Vail Valley Real Estate News, Feb. 5, 2014

Winter in the Vail Valley! A buried snow shovel.

It’s that time of year again – and in the Vail Valley, we love it!

A weekly look at what’s new in the Vail Valley and Real Estate.

The snow is here – and with it, possible infestations of winter pests. The National AssociationM of Realtors has compiled a few suggestions on how to deal with rodents, spiders and other potential problems. (At least we don’t have to deal with this in the winter!)

The snow is still coming:“As of Feb. 3, the snowpack was high enough that the (Vail) valley could go without snow until roughly Valentine’s Day and still remain above historical averages. But there’s more snow on the way.

On the national scene, Mortgage rates are still dropping, largely on the back of January’s impressive bond rally.  Even so, demand for loans has remained flat.

Staging your home for sale? The National Association of Realtors suggests adding a little more gray. Also, a professional staging specialist says don’t forget to clean up the garage.

We already know that KW is a great place to work and learn, but a little bit of outside acknowledgement is always nice.  That’s why we were pleased to hear that Keller Williams Realty has been named the No. 2 Training Organization in the World across all industries by Training Magazine.

Speaking of Keller Williams, there’s a concert by the musician of the same name (no relation) is coming to the Vail Valley. Mr. Williams will be at Beaver Creek’s Vilar Center tomorrow night. Check him out on YouTube.

Skiers, boarders and telemarkers of all ages and abilities will have the opportunity to test out Vail’s EpicMix Race Course at the Vertical Express for Can Do MS on-mountain event Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is being held on the anniversary of Can Do MS founder Jimmie Heuga’s Olympic bronze winning performance in ski racing – the United States’ first-ever medal in that event.
