Vail Valley Real Estate News, Market Conditions and Trends for March 7, 2014.The Rocky Mountain Home Team’s weekly look at what’s new in the Vail Valley, Real Estate and more:
The Western region is leading the country in job growth, according USA Today. Seven of the 10 states with the fastest-growing job markets this year – including Colorado as well as North Dakota, Texas, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Oregon – are western states. Economists are predicting increased westward migration.
As technology increasingly allows Americans to work remotely, the entire Western region is drawing more residents from other states who want to live amid scenic mountains and enjoy a better quality of life, says IHS economist Jim Diffley.
“They’re just progressive, attractive places to live,” Diffley says.
That might just be the most sensible thing we’ve ever heard from an economist.
In local news, the town of Minturn has lost a landmark. “There’s no lions head in Minturn anymore.”
Yahoo Homes offers some sensible financial advice for future homebuyers – a “try it before you buy it” plan to grow your savings and figure out how high of a mortgage payment you can honestly afford. Of course, in the example, the renter is paying $700 in rent. If you’re renting in the Vail Valley, you’re probably looking at something a little more than that.
Sometimes it never hurts to repeat a bit of obvious advice, like this from Inman News – Home Staging 101: Stash the Nudes.
Also from Inman, more on the ongoing debate about Bitcoin and Real Estate.
