It is a busy summer for Vail Valley Real Estate, and the Rocky Mountain Home Team is been no exception. In July 2014, 93 residential properties sold in the valley with an average sale price of $879,316 according to the Vail MLS. For a more in depth look at the numbers, visit our Market Report Center.
Of particular note is our 675 Lionshead Place #587 listing, which went under contract after just 36 days on market with us. This listing cycled through three other brokers and was listed for a total of 1529 days before reaching the Rocky Mountain Home Team.
August has seen 33 residential property sales so far, nearly matching 2013’s 35 sales for the same period. We can expect plenty of activity in the weeks leading into fall.
Prequalification is a helpful early step when you’re looking to buy a home. A new plug-in from Planwise will soon enable any web site to make it happen. (Reminder: Prequalification is helpful, but it is no substitute for preapproval. )
Good news from FICO: “This move will ultimately make a real difference in the lives of millions of Americans, who have been shut out of the housing market or forced to pay higher mortgage interest rates because of flawed credit scores. Since the housing crash, overly restrictive lending has been the greatest obstacle to homeownership.”
Are stock prices too high for Trulia and Zillow? Barrons says yes.
What to do in the Vail Valley?
The 50th Annual Community Rummage Sale and Auction comes to Minturn this weekend. This long standing local tradition began in 1964, just two years after Vail itself began. The sale, which earns money for various charities and local causes, starts at 6:45. If past years have been any indication, you may wish to come early and wait in the line.
The Vail International Dance Festival comes to an end this weekend, but it is finishing big. On Friday, five couples will perform 25 dance pieces in a Ballroom Spectacular program at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. The action starts at 7:30 p.m.
