January 2015 saw a total total of 61 residential property sales in Eagle County according to the Vail Board of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service.  That’s a down off of December’s highs, but up almost 11 percent over January 2014.  Slopeside markets saw a dip in sales price per square foot for the first month of 2015, but this was countered by a rise in the wider Edwards-East market. Overall, sale price averaged $639 per square foot, up 15.7% from last month and 21.7% over January 2014.

Just five sales were recorded by the MLS in the Eagle-West market in January.  For the first time in several years, that total included no distressed property sales.  The Vail MLS currently lists 85 homes for sale in that market, including 18 homes newly listed in January.
